New Job Opportunities at Sokoine University of Agriculture February 2022

 


The Management of Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) invites suitable qualified Tanzanians to apply for various positions. The applicotion letter should indicate names and addresses of three referees, together with certified copies of all academic certificates.

  • POSITION: LIVESTOCK FIELD TECHNICIAN I (ONE POSITION)– College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences

 

QUALIFICATIONS:Holder of Diploma in one of the following fields: Animal Health, Animal Health and Production, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution with working experience of at least two (2) years in Artificial Insemination.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • To carry out Artificial Insemination to the Animal hospital clients and SUA farms,
  • To assist in Identifying and selecting suitable clinical cases for teaching,
  • To assist in identifying primary reproduction disorders in animals,
  • To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

 

  • POSITION: VETERINARY CLINICIAN II (ONE POSITION)– College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences

 

QUALIFICATIONS:Holder of Bachelor Degree in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution. Must be registered by the Veterinary Council of Tanzania and have at least three years’ experience in a reputable Veterinary Facility.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To carry out routine veterinary clinical services at Teaching Animal Hospital,

 

  • To assist in Identifying and selecting suitable clinical cases for referrals to Veterinary Specialists. teaching and diagnostic work,

 

  • To assist in procurement of clinical materials and equipments,
  • To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

 

  • POSITION: FURNITURE FACTORY SUPERVISOR(1 Position) – Vuyisile Furniture Unit

 

QUALIFICATIONS:Possession of Diploma in Forestry Industries Technology from a recognized Institution and must have working experience of at least three years in wood/furniture manufacturing. Further training in Civil/Mechanical works bill be an added advantage.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage overall activities including production planning, scheduling, quality assurance and budgeting,
  • Design wood products including furnitures, planks and wood veneers
  • Prepare and analyze production performance reports,

 

  • Lead, Manage and improve wood production related functions (estimation, technical purchasing, quality, safety, ware-housing and factory administration)

 

  • POSITION: ARCHITECT II(1 Position) – Department of Estate and Works

 

QUALIFICATIONS:Holder of Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields: Architecture, Building Design, Architectural and Building Engineering Technology, Landscape Architecture, Architectural Technology, Architectural Engineering, Interior Design or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. Must be registered by the Architect and Quantity Surveyors Registration Board (AQSRB) asa graduate Architect.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • To assist in designing and planning of buildings and other related structures;

 

  • To assist in preparation of different building/construction and related project proposals,

 

  • To assist in estimating construction costs based on the building and/or structure designed,

 

  • To assist in carrying out feasibility studies and drafting of technical documents related to the designs,

 

  • To assist in implementation of daily building/construction and related activities;
  • To assist in inspecting building projects at all stages,
  • To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

 

  • AGE:Not above 45 years of age

 

  • REMUNERATION:As  per  applicable  Scheme  of  Service  and  the  Treasury

Registrar’s Circular No. 6 of 2015.

 

  • TENURE:One-year renewable contract depending on performance and availability of Funds.
