SUA Still Ranks number 1 in Top University by Citations in Tanzania



Once again, Sokoine University of Agriculture has been listed on the list of the top 100 universities in Africa according to the webometrics ranking of world's universities that publish their results twice a year (end of January and July)



According to the results released in July 2021 by webometrics, Sokoine University of Agriculture is ranked number 1 in Tanzania, 31 in Africa and 1,215 worldwide in the list of Top 5000 universities by citations with the total of 98, 143 citations. On January 2021, SUA had 89,752 citations and was also ranked number 1 in Tanzania.

In the list of best university in the world according to webometrics, Sokoine University of Agriculture is ranked 51 in Africa, 28 in the Sub Saharan Africa region, 2 in Tanzania, and 2,033 worldwide. In January 2021, results released by the same, Sokoine University of Agriculture was ranked 53 in Africa, 31 in Sub Saharan Africa region, 2 in Tanzania, and 2,163 worldwide.

Webometrics ranks universities based on Impact (Web Contents Impact), Openness (Top Cited Researchers) and Excellence (Top Cited Papers) parameters. SUA ranked 4,919 in Impact, 1,210 in Openness and 2,485 in Excellence parameters.
