What is TAWA?

  Introduction Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism is an autonomous public institution that was established by the Wildlife Conservation (The Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority) Establishment Order, 2014. It is responsible for undertaking the administration and sustainable management of wildlife resource and biodiversity conservation outside National Parks and Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This entails managing a total area of 169,553 km2 (79% of the total size of protected areas in the country) comprising of Game Reserves, Game Controlled Areas and open areas. What we do TAWA's mission is to conserve and sustainably utilize wildlife resources in protected areas. For this, TAWA collaborates with local communities and other national and international stakeholders.   Wildlife development Wildlife development infers to the undertakings in the protected areas (Game Reserves, Game Controlled Areas and Ramsar Sites) that supports wildlife conservation, wildlife utilization and wildlife protection. Thailand to let go of its quarantine-free visa policy for now

Thailand  has decided to suspend its quarantine-free visa programme for vaccinated visitors, in view of the ongoing Omicron variant outbreak. The country has also taken some other measures in regard to this latest outbreak.  The country has decided to put a ban on sale of alcohol at  restaurants  in areas that are at high risk of COVID infections. The virus task force of Thailand has however not included Bangkok, Phuket, and six other tourist destinations from any strict containment measures. In these areas, alcohol will be banned for consumption at restaurants and other commercial places after 9 PM.  Government Spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said that overseas visitors, who are holding valid visas for the quarantine waiver, will still be allowed to enter the country.
