Border Reopening on January 8, 2023: China Official Announcement

Optimize the entry and exit of Chinese and foreigners

People who come to China are required to have a negative nucleic acid test within 48 hours before their departure. They don't have to apply for a health code from Chinese Embassies and consulates abroad, instead to fill in the results on the customs health declaration card.

If the nucleic acid test is positive, they should not come to China till their result turns negative.

Eliminate complete nucleic acid testing and centralized quarantine upon entry.

Further optimize the arrangements for foreign nationals coming to China for resumption of work and factory production, business, study, family visits, and reunions, and provide appropriate visa facilities.

Gradually resume the entry and exit of passengers at water and land ports.

Resume outbound travel for Chinese citizens in an orderly manner.
