1. Number one reason that can kill your business is Over-promise and under-deliver. This has been very common nowadays and to say the truth i have also experienced this situation and it’s very bad. For example you buy something from a certain company or store and they tell you that after two hours or so whatever the instructions are, and they fail to deliver it on time without any prior notice and they take it as normal thing. Mind you that when the customer buys your product or service at first it means he/she trusts you and also has got his plans for that service or product, so when you don’t deliver on time and remaining silent like nothing happened then he will not come back again and shift to the company that is more serious with their services. 

Furthermore get to know your customers and what they need, being able to understand what customer needs is the foundation for business success, the more you know them, the more the marketing efforts will be.
