USTC Scholarship 2025 Benefits

  • Tuition Fees: Full tuition coverage for master’s and PhD programs.
  • Monthly Stipend: Master’s students receive up to 3,000 RMB per month; PhD students receive up to 7,000 RMB per month.

  • Insurance: Coverage for medical expenses with an annual insurance fee of 800 RMB.

Available Courses

USTC offers a wide array of programs across several fields, such as:

Eligibility Requirements

  • Nationality: Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport.
  • Health: Candidates must be mentally and physically fit.
  • Educational Background:
    • Master’s program applicants need a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
    • Doctoral program applicants need a master’s degree (or equivalent).
    • Students graduating in 2025 should provide a pre-graduation certificate verifying their expected graduation by July 2025.
  • Age Requirements:
    • Master’s applicants: Under 40 years old as of September 1, 2025.
    • PhD applicants: Under 45 years old as of September 1, 2025.
  • Language Proficiency:
    • Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 4 or above.
    • English-taught programs: IELTS or TOEFL for proof of English proficiency.

Application Procedure

Follow these steps to apply for the USTC Scholarship:

1.      Register on USTC’s online application portal here.

2.      Complete the Application: Submit all required documents, such as:

    • Passport copy
    • Study or research proposal (minimum 800 words)
    • Curriculum vitae
    • Two recommendation letters from professors
    • Physical examination form
    • Language proficiency certificate
    • Academic transcripts and degree certificates

3.      Online Assessment: USTC departments will review applications in February or March 2025. Some departments may require an entrance exam.

4.      Admission Results: Selected candidates will be notified in June or July 2025 and will receive admission documents and visa application forms (JW201/JW202).
