Two Dogs Kill Deer in Reported Attack, Police Confirm

Deer was attacked and killed by two dogs on private woodland.

Gloucestershire Police reported that the incident occurred around 10:00 BST on 7 September in Hazelwood, Minchinhampton, near Stroud.

The force said a tan Lurcher and small black Terrier chased and attacked the deer, leaving it with fatal injuries.

Officers have appealed for the owner of the dogs, or anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened, to make contact.

Police said dog owners must make sure there are no livestock or wild animals in the area before letting their pets off the lead, and allowing a dog to worry or attack livestock is a criminal offence.

Gloucestershire Police issued a statement reminding dog owners of their responsibilities after the deer attack.
