Job purpose 

As Associate Auditor, you will work on various audit engagements in different industry sectors in which EY is acknowledged as a market leader, specifically: financial services, energy and utilities, oil and gas, telecommunications, industrial products and Manufacturing, automotive, retail and consumer products, real estate, etc.

Key responsibilities

  • Working in a team, you will interact with the client in order to collect all the necessary data/information, set-up and maintain audit files, prepare leads, etc.
  • Perform a high quality, fully compliant audit in accordance with EY requirements and keep up to date with developments in EY Global Audit Methodology (EY GAM), International GAAP and reporting requirements.
  • Complete and close all your Skills Reviews (SR’s) and Assessment Needs Analysis (ANA’s) within the prescribed time frame.
  • Perform a multi-location audit as part of the group audit team.
  • To suggest practical and workable solutions to issues which arise.
  • Tracks tam progress against milestones and agreed upon deliverables and knows at all times the progress made against the work plan.
  • Consistently produces deliverables in time for deadlines for the engagement.
  • Have knowledge of all issues arising on the engagement and briefs supervisors/managers accordingly.
  • Apply relevant business knowledge to plan efficient and effective audit approach.
  • Applies a practical solution to technical issues which arise.
  • Achieve 85% personal utilization.
  • Actively seek ways to improve execution and challenge prior year audit procedures.
  • Take personal responsibility for regularly checking staff planner and updating adjust immediately of any changes.
  • Ensure that all admin matters in the engagement are addressed timely.
  • Timely and accurate completion of timesheets
  • Manages own workload so that all agreed expectations are met.
  • Seeks ownership and takes responsibility for demonstrating ability to perform.
  • Accurately documents meeting minutes and client presentation.
  • Communicates status of all delegated work to the senior.
  • Accepts delegation of work & takes full ownership for assigned work and follows through to completion.
  • Take responsibility for your own career development and performance, maximizing the opportunities presented to you by EYU (experiences, learning and coaching)
  • Request feedback on a timely basis on all assignment worked.
  • Participate in EY’s corporate responsibility activities.
  • Embrace diversity and inclusiveness and inculcate this understanding in the way you conduct yourself.
  • Participation in at least one the firm’s forums and/or service line discussions
  • Demonstrate high commitment to work.

Qualifications, Certifications

  • Graduates from Finance / Accounting/ or a Business-related field / Actuarial Sciences/ Computer/Telecom Engineering.
  • 3 to 4 years of experiences in Auditing firm is required.
  • CPA/ ACCA is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (other language is a plus)
  • Proficient IT skills (Excel, Word, Power Point).
  • High level of motivation and drive to start a career in professional services.
  • A minimum of division two for both O’ Level and A’ Level with credit in Mathematics and English and a Cumulative GPA to a minimum of 3.5 at Degree Level.
